Thierry Mercier has over 20 years of executive search experience.Thierry’s track record is marked by several high profile placements, by which he measures his success. He manages C-level searches as well as board positions for both large companies and start-ups in France and all over Europe. His search experience, in addition to his own career in general management, have enabled him to succeed in a number of complex search assignments, often at critical junctures for the clients concerned. These assignments nearly always involved searching worldwide for the right candidate. In 1983, he started his executive search experience at Neumann International and founded the first Europe Technology Practice in 1985. His major first clients were Apple Computers, Hewlett Packard and Siemens Data, on a European basis.After several years as Managing Partner for the French operation and of the European Technology Practice for Heidrick & Struggles and as Managing Partner of the European Technology Practice of Spencer Stuart, Thierry Mercier developed the worldwide technology practice of Whitehead Mann, working in Paris and London. This practice was based on 15 key technology Partners in North America, in Asia Pacific and in Europe.He began his search career, following 11 years in the industrial sector. His last position was that of managing director of a worldwide division of Electrolux. Thierry holds a master in electro-mechanical engineering from the Ecole des Arts & Métiers, an MBA from ESSEC and did doctoral work in information technology at the Paris University. He is a Lecturer in human resources for the Sorbonne University.

Thierry is a member of the Royal Ocean Racing Club of London and a member of the Yacht Club de France.

With more than 12 years of executive search experience, Grace’s successful engagement track record comprises of executive searches for senior executives across Asia for both young start-ups as well as established multinational organisations.

These include searches conducted in China, Korea, Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia, Australia, India, Singapore and region-wide as well as worldwide searches working with the Exec Avenue global team. Examples of recent assignments include the strategic hire of a team of first-liners to the CEO of a major telecommunication equipment vendor in a turn-around situation in Indonesia and a succession planning project of several director-level positions for another technology vendor in Malaysia.

Prior to Amhurst Gordon International, Grace was with Morgan & Banks (an Australian public-listed search firm) as the Team Leader for the technology sector managing a team of eight Technology consultants. In her seven years with the group, (Morgan and Banks went into a joint-venture with H. Neumann in Asia and was subsequently acquired by TMP Worldwide and merged with Monster.com and TMP Advertising Communications and finally rebranded as The Highland Group currently), her core expertise included managing high level executive searches and subsequently as the business model evolved with the merger to include project managing large search projects across multiple locations, managing vendors on a managed vendor model and on-line recruitment etc.

Grace is known for her strong delivery capability and high quality consulting work with both clients and candidates and extensive network in the technology industry. She measures her success though delivery guided by her strong work ethics and integrity.

She was in charge of recruitment in Southern Europe. Before that, Anita Pouplard worked as a Pan-European Strategic Accounts Manager at Softbank from 1992 to 1995. Since the beginning of her career, she has ever proved a strong interest in evaluation of people and their adequation to a competitive environment : after graduate studies in Psychology, she has worked with National Sports Federations to select young high level Athletes at Institut National du Sport et de l’Education Physique. She also was in charge of coaching athletes before competitions at the same time.

With more than 15 years of experience in executive search, Muriel has a proven track record in executive search consultancy and the multimedia sector. She began her professional career at Heidrick and Struggles.
In 1999 she set up the Spanish office of Morgan Howard (IT Executive search) as General Director, where she was responsible for worldwide assignments and global account management. She then spent four years as Chief Operations Officer at World Investment News, a multimedia company, tasked with setting up the headquarters (recruitment team, process set-up, launch of new products, development strategy, etc.)
In 2005 she returned to the executive search industry and currently carries out projects relating to corporate management teams: development and organization-based tools such as coaching, value diagnostics, team alignment with the strategy, company target culture and career counselling. She has a degree in Business and Administration and is also an ICF certified coach with Corporate Transformation Tools certification. Max Tsumuraya has 16 years experience in executive search in Japan. He is one of a few independent search consultants who conduct searches on a retainer-basis in Japan. Max specializes in managerial-level searches including CXOs for technology-intensive companies in the information technology, telecommunications, networking, and semiconductors industries.  Prior to becoming independent in 1999 he worked with Korn/Ferry International-Japan as a Vice President for eight years, and with Booz, Allen & Hamilton (Japan), Inc. for six years.  He began his career as a satellite engineer for Mitsubishi Electric Corporation in 1981.

Max holds an MSE in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering from Princeton University and MS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Tokyo (completed requirements for his Ph.D. except for dissertation).  An astronaut candidate for Japan’s space program, a recipient of a Rotary International Graduate Fellowship, Treasurer/Secretary of the Princeton Club of Japan, and a member of Society of Electronics, Information and Communication Engineers.

D.Y. Lee is currently managing ‘Actum Partners, a Seoul-based consulting firm to provide executive search services mostly to multinational technology companies operating or newly expanding in Korea. Mr. Lee worked for Korn/Ferry International, the worlds leading executive search firm, both in Japan and Korea. Mr. Lee was particularly responsible for developing Korn/Ferry’s Korean practice before and after Korn/Ferry International opened an office in Seoul in 1998. Mr. Lee served in the General Practice in Korea, with special focus on clients in the technology and consumer industries. Mr. Mr. Lee also worked as CEO of Tongdaemoon.com, a fashion B2B venture company set up to export products of Tongdaemoon market, the biggest fashion retail and wholesales market in Korea, to overseas customers online. Mr. Lee was in charge of overall management, including setting up sales, marketing IT strategies as well as strategic partnerships and alliances. Mr. Lee served six years as a consultant and banker in Seoul, Tokyo and London. Upon graduating from Harvard, Mr.Lee joined Morgan Grenfell, one of the leading British merchant banks and worked in the International Department in London and Tokyo. He was transferred to Seoul as Representative responsible for a range of merchant banking activities. Based in Seoul, he worked as a management consultant, specialized in market research and entry strategy for foreign capital companies. His early career included time with Hewlett Packard Japan in Tokyo as a Financial Accountant. Mr. Lee received his undergraduate degree from Hitotsubashi University in Tokyo, majoring in International Marketing and Corporate Strategy. He holds a Master of Arts degree in Regional Studies-East Asia from the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences, Harvard University, with research focus on Economic and Financial Policies of Japan and Korea.

Mark Ingram

Mark Ingram joined Executive Avenue in 2006 as UK Partner and remains Managing Director of McDonald Ingram Ltd, a firm he founded in 2000 with 4 colleagues to focus on provision of a quality, responsive consulting service.  He has now spent almost 20 years in executive search and evaluation worldwide.  As Managing Director and Principal Consultant, he chairs the Board but retains a full consulting role as one of its Principal Consultants.  He conducts business in English and French.
Having gained a BSc (Hons) degree in Geology from Durham University in the UK, Mark undertook post-graduate study in Psychology with Professor Tony Lake.  He embarked on his career with Eastman Kodak, starting in Scientific Research, then in Strategy, Business Analysis and finally in Consumer and Industrial Marketing.  Mark’s career has had a strong international dimension from the start; at Kodak, he led a number of strategic projects in Poland, Germany, France and the US, as well as working on international evaluation and introduction of new technologies such as Electronic Publishing and Secure Access.Mark then moved to the advisory side, working for a small HR consulting firm prior to joining the fastest growing of the ‘big 6’ search firms, Heidrick & Struggles, in 1992.
In 8 years with Heidrick and Struggles, Mark worked in London, Paris, Madrid and Menlo Park, managing multiple worldwide search assignments for prominent multinational companies.  Moving to European HQ in Paris in 1997, he worked with Managing Partner Thierry Mercier and was made Business Manager of the Technology Practice in Europe in 1998.  Here, aside from Technology specialisation, he also consulted in Shipping, Financial Services, Professional Services and Travel & Transportation sectors and worked on a number of Heidrick & Struggles’ first Management Potential Evaluation (management audit and evaluation) assignments.
He then briefly joined the Board of Morgan Howard to establish a Global Consulting Practice for the firm based in London, Paris and the US.  This Practice was successfully set up as a separate entity and was then bought out in 2000 to create McDonald Ingram.  Over the years, Mark has helped many growing technology companies to grow by finding the right people, often working on highly sensitive, cross-border assignments for high growth technology companies.  He has also advised many large entities and McDonald Ingram continues to work with several large quoted companies.

Yannis Mercier

YANNIS MERCIER  email

With more than 15 years of experience in NTIC and the media industries as an entrepreneur, Yannis Mercier started its first company and pioneered the software development with the first massively multi-players online game (MMOG), based on a business model of online subscription and prepaid cards. He founded Vibes Company in France in 1996, to develop and market the first 3D online game, then a subsidiary in the United States in 1998. He raised funds with SG Asset Management in 1999. Yannis started a subsidiary in India (Bangalore) in 2000, and transferred the group to his Chinese distributor in Hong Kong in 2002 and was involved in building the new development team there. He started and managed the first company for “Next Gen” video game development in Singapore: Ksatria Gameworks, and raised funds with Chinese private investors. Working very closely with his teams, he has always recruited international talents from all over the world in order to gather the best experts, in software technology, graphics, finance, sales and marketing.
